Vehicle Display & Control Terminal
Q1: What equipment is this in-vehicle display and control terminal mainly designed for, and how does it differ from an ordinary consumer-grade in-vehicle screen?
A: The product is an integrated display and control terminal for off-road engineering equipment, suitable for construction machinery, mining machinery, agricultural machinery, fire trucks, port equipment and more. Unlike an ordinary passenger-vehicle / consumer-grade screen, it is an integrated industrial unit that combines screen display, IO control, CAN communication, multi-channel video monitoring and remote operation and maintenance in a single device. It solves the pain points of traditional solutions such as piecing together multiple pieces of hardware, complex wiring harnesses and difficult debugging and maintenance, and is purpose-built for the harsh working conditions of construction sites, mines, farmland and ports.
Q2: What screen sizes are available? Is the display clear in strong outdoor sunlight, and does it support automatic brightness adjustment?
A: Two sizes are available, 8-inch and 10.1-inch, all with capacitive touch screens; the 8-inch model offers 750cd/m² brightness and the 10.1-inch model 1000cd/m², so the picture stays clear even in strong light. The device has a built-in light sensor and supports automatic light-sensing dimming, raising brightness automatically during the day and lowering the backlight at night, which prevents glare from an overly bright screen and ensures safe operation.
Q3: How strong are the device’s environmental protection, weather resistance and vibration resistance?
A: The whole unit carries an IP65 dustproof and waterproof rating; operating temperature is -30℃~+70℃ and storage temperature is -40℃~+85℃, withstanding severe cold and blazing summer heat; the unit has passed a full set of industrial tests covering EMC electromagnetic immunity, random / sinusoidal vibration, mechanical shock, temperature and humidity cycling and salt spray corrosion, so it handles complex worksites with dust, rain, salt spray and constant jolting and impact.
Q4: Vehicle voltage fluctuates widely — how compatible is the device’s power supply, and is power consumption high?
A: It supports a wide 9-36V voltage input, matching the battery power supply of various engineering vehicles; the unit is low-power, drawing only 500mA at 24V, so it does not over-drain the vehicle’s power; it also features ACC wake-up / power-off interlocked control, switching on and off automatically with the vehicle ignition to prevent battery drain.
Q5: How many camera channels does the video monitoring function support, and what camera specifications are supported?
A: It comes with 4 AHD high-definition video input ports and supports 720P/1080P cameras, so reversing cameras and working-condition monitoring cameras can be connected at the same time and multiple views watched simultaneously, reducing blind spots during operation.
Q6: What communication interfaces does the device have, and what functions can the CAN bus perform?
A: It is equipped with a dual-channel CAN2.0B bus for whole-vehicle data exchange, IO control and device fault diagnosis; built-in 4G CAT1 full-network connectivity, Wi-Fi (AP/STA dual mode) and Bluetooth; it supports Bluetooth calls, audio playback, phone screen mirroring and local data transmission. It also provides a USB interface for flashing programs and playing audio data from a USB flash drive.
Q7: How good is the audio output capability?
A: It has a built-in 3W speaker and additionally reserves a 15W high-power audio output interface for connecting an external speaker, meeting the engineering scenarios that call for work prompts, warning voice messages and intercom audio output.
Q8: What operating system does it use, and do the development tools require purchasing overseas software licenses?
A: It runs a self-developed domestic Linux operating system together with the dedicated EmbedBuilder IDE development tool. It does not rely on overseas CODESYS software and carries no costly license or annual fees, giving you autonomous, controllable development and making it easy for OEMs and integrators to carry out secondary development and functional customization.
Q9: What program upgrade methods are available? Must the unit be disassembled to flash the firmware?
A: No disassembly is required, and two upgrade methods are supported: ① local program flashing from a USB flash drive; ② remote OTA upgrades over 4G full-network connectivity, so devices in other locations can be updated remotely, greatly reducing the cost of on-site service visits for equipment across regions.
Q10: Can OEMs and retrofit integrators develop custom solutions? Is OEM/ODM supported?
A: Yes. The standardized hardware adapts to many types of off-road equipment, reducing repeated tooling costs; customization is available for hardware interfaces, system UI, functional logic and multiple languages, with support for OEM and ODM projects, and we can provide a full set of industrial test reports and export certification documents.
Q11: What is the installation method, and what accessories are included?
A: It supports standard VESA hole-pattern wall mounting / bracket installation; the main unit is supplied as standard, while accessories such as the in-vehicle mounting bracket, wiring harness and cameras are optional and configured separately according to project requirements.
Q12: Can the device interface with a customer’s existing whole-vehicle control system?
A: Yes, interfacing is achieved through the dual-channel CAN2.0B bus; the customer provides the whole-vehicle protocol documentation and we complete the adaptation and debugging, enabling whole-vehicle data reading, fault diagnosis, IO action control and other functions.
